| All the objects around us have three dimensions – they have height, width and depth.
When we look at the same object in a picture, a diagram or even a photograph, we can see just its height and width.
You will explore the concepts of 2D and 3D and shows you how to read and use 2D representations of 3D objects.
We will begin by explaining why three or more views are necessary to provide all the details of a 3D object.
It shows you how to create a ‘bird’s eye’ or plan view and how to show vertical surfaces using side views.
You will learn how to combine these different views together to create an overall impression of a 3D object and how to draw a net to represent a 3D object in a slightly different way.
Finally, we will look at the special rules of drawing and problem solving using parallel lines.
