Safeguarding Vulnerable Persons Policy

Statement

Care Training East Midlands make every effort to comply with safeguarding legislation and guidance issued by CRB, ISA and the Department of Education.

NB Safeguarding children and safer recruitment in education is currently under review – the consultation period ended on the 15th June 2010. We will review Safeguarding for all our programmes when the Department for Employment publishes its final document. Until the final publication date we will continue with our current polices of risk assessing safeguarding situations in accordance with the original publication.

Care Training East Midlands maintains a Single Central Record of safeguarding checks on our staff involved in Regulated Activity Programmes (RAPs) and CRB checks on all employees and any relevant contractors.

Responsibility

This policy is the responsibility of all employees who have contact with vulnerable persons.

The Single Central Record is maintained by the Designated Safeguarding Officer.

This policy will be reviewed as further guidance and legislation becomes available.
