Because of the success of the jobs fair delivered by Care Training East Midlands (CTEM) and Partnerships in Care last month, we've been asked to organise another one on the 23rd July 2009.
It was held at the Genesis Family Entertainment Centre again, which is conveniently located for the Partnerships in Care facilities that were recruiting in Annesley and Arnold in Nottinghamshire and Chesterfield in Derbyshire.
Partnerships in Care is the largest independent provider of secure mental health facilities across the UK. They have over 20 years of experience in caring for men and women with complex mental health needs and specialise in the areas of mental illness, personality disorders, learning disabilities and brain injury rehabilitation.
They were recruiting specifically for health care workers to
support the assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of
patients in the units.
Care Training East Midlands created a two week pre-employment course for people interested in the post. The course also took place at the Genesis Family Entertainment Centre. This Partnerships in Care pre-employment course covered topics such as:
- What is a Carer? (Which was tailored to Partnerships in Care)
- Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults
- Challenging Behaviour
- Management of Violence & Aggression
as well as also covering interview techniques and completing application forms.
8 people who completed the course were put forward for an interview and 7 of them were offered a full time contract of employment.
