Care Training East Midlands hosted the annual Care and Childcare jobs fair on 27th August 2009. Following a three week campaign promoted across Derby and Nottingham, people flocked in their dozens to come along and find out about training and career opportunities in care and childcare available to them.

By 10:15am, 15 minutes before the doors were officially opened, people were queuing eagerly awaiting their next career move.

For the recruiting employers, this event was useful as they had a guarantee that everyone walking through the doors were interested in a career in care or childcare. It filtered out those who were looking for careers in other sectors.

The Pre-Employment Training (PET) for Partnerships in Care continues

10 people who attended The 2009 Care and Childcare jobs fair were enrolled onto Pre-Employment Training for Partnerships in Care.

Staff at Partnerships in Care were able to choose who they felt would be a valuable candidate for the training programme, and Care Training provided the eligible candidates with training to prepare them for an interview with Partnerships in Care.

This recruitment activity ensures Partnerships in Care are meeting the relevant candidates trained in relevant areas for the role they are applying to.   

After they completed the two week training programme, 6 of the candidates were offered full-time jobs as Health Care Workers at Partnerships in Care this September.
