Winter New Deal Awards

The end of a successful year for Care Training’s
New Deal students...

The Winter New Deal awards took place on December 12, at the Strathdon Hotel. The afternoon was a huge success with attendance from Jobcentre Plus Advisors, Care Training staff and the students themselves. The winter themed room gave a festive backdrop to the awards ceremony.

The mix of current and past students created a buzzing atmosphere. Success stories and current course chat was exchanged. Christian’s famous non-alcoholic winter punch was handed out as a welcome and got everyone in the winter fun mood!

Then it was on to the awards ceremony. Rita Ford welcomed everyone and thanked the students and advisors for all their hard work and effort. Alex Ford presented the achievement awards which recognised student’s personal and vocational development.

It was brilliant to see students receive recognition who have overcome personal barriers. John Rowston who has now gained employment received an award for his determination. Nicky Atherly was also rewarded for her creativity and realising her potential.

The backdrop for the stage was an eye-catching PowerPoint presentation designed by the Business Administration and Retail students. Alex presented the three students with a prize for their incredible efforts, which impressed everyone at the ceremony.

Chantal Kavoma (New Deal Health Care – now in work) receiving an award for being “Enthusiastic and Committed”.

As the awards and applause flowed there was a real sense of camaraderie and the ceremony ended on an extremely positive note. The tasty buffet was enjoyed by all and the goody bags were the perfect end to a fantastic afternoon.
