One giant leap for a carrot, celery and a cheese?
On Sunday 16th March, ten members of Care Training rose to the challenge and took part in the Sport Relief Mile. The day dawned wet and extremely blustery but that didn’t deter our brave runners.
Dressed in a wonderful assortment of fancy dress outfits and determined to make a difference to the millions of vulnerable people across the world, living in misery and poverty.
Our mile course took us alongside the River Trent. The wind was particularly fierce and at one point, poor Mariel nearly ended up as an extremely wet stick of celery. A gust of wind caught the top of her headdress, buffeting her dangerously close to the water – well done Helen for a spectacular save!
Everyone enjoyed themselves immensely, despite the weather, and the total amount we raised was £650.
Next stop, the Robin Hood Marathon, 5 miles (gulp). |
