learndirect Tutor
Over the last 3 years Care Training East Midlands has established a highly successful Learndirect centre on the Old Market Square in Nottingham alongside outreach centres throughout the city. We are in the process of strengthening this provision to prepare for further expansion.
Able to communicate with learners at all levels you will have previous experience of supporting & tutoring people throughout programmes of adult learning and the ability to develop with the department.
A teaching qualification in learner support at Level 3 or above would be beneficial and a Skills for Life Level 3 Support qualification (Literacy and/or Numeracy) would be a distinct advantage. The ideal candidate will be keen to deliver quality and have the dynamism to enthuse a range of learners.
Key responsibilities:
- Providing high quality support at every stage of the learning process.
- Supporting learners undertaking online learning (Literacy, Numeracy & IT courses).
- Being responsible for keeping learner files up-to-date and completed to internal standards and those required by Learndirect auditors.
- Work to weekly targets.
- Contributing to the development of our Learndirect business unit.
Essential skills/experience:
- Level 3 qualification in learner support;
- Experience of working with adult learners with literacy and numeracy needs;
- Excellent IT and administration skills;
- Setting and monitoring of learner targets
Desirable skills/experience:
- Involvement in or awareness of a wide range of adult learning opportunities;
- Level 3 Skills for Life Support Tutor qualification (literacy and/or numeracy);
- Familiarity with learndirect administration systems;
- Qualification in the use of IT
