Where can I do the courses?

All the support needed to complete the courses is built in, so your staff won’t require any additional support.

Employees can learn wherever they have access to the internet, including:

>	at home All you need is a PC with internet access.
>	at work All you need is a computer with internet access.
>	our learning centre You can visit Care Training East Midlands' learndirect centre Monday–Friday, 9:00am–4:30pm, to use a computer and see a tutor. Click here for directions.

When can I do the courses?

Staff can learn at any time they have access to the internet. The self study eCourses are available to buy online. With no paperwork or advance booking, staff can start straight away and continue at their own pace, fitting training into the working day.

Costs and funding available

eCourses

Training your staff with learndirect might not be as costly as you think. Our self supported eCourses start from under £20, meaning whatever training you offer your staff it doesn’t have to cost the earth. Visit the learndirect eCourses website for a full list of prices and to buy.

Literacy and Numeracy

You are eligible for funding if:

you are aged 19 years old or over
you are a British Citizen, come from an EU member country or have lived in the UK for 3 years or more (and have been given the right to remain)
your diagnostic assessment results show that you are working at Level 1 or below.

If you match the above criteria your training and tests will be fully funded by the government. This means they will not cost you a thing.

If your diagnostic assessment results show that you are currently working at Level 2 then you have two options:

Pay £20 for the test and take it straight away. If you fail the test you will have to pay another £20 for each subsequent test you take.
Access tuition to enable you to pass the Level 2 test. This one-to-one support is charged at £25 per hour. The test will be £20.

Office IT

New CLAiT costs £80 per module and there is 1 mandatory unit plus at least 2 optional units.

CLAiT Plus costs £90 per module and there is 1 mandatory unit plus at least 4 optional units. There is no funding available.

Basic Food Hygiene

The course costs £35 and the test is £41. These prices include VAT. No funding is available.
