Where can I do the courses?
Nearly all learndirect courses are available online, allowing people to learn wherever they have access to the internet:
> at home
All you need is a PC with internet access.
> at work
All you need is a computer with internet access.
> a library
Libraries provide internet access. Click here to find a library near you
> our learning centre
Our new learning centre on floor 2 of Market Square House boasts top-of-the-range technology as well as space to sit and write. Our tutors are on hand to provide constant advice and guidance through the entire internet learning process, so you feel supported at all times. (see 'find us' for directions)

When can I do the courses?

Nearly all learndirect courses are available online, allowing people to learn at any time they have access to the internet.

You can visit our learning centre anytime from
Monday to Friday, 9am-5 pm.

Costs and Funding Available
Skills for Life

Literacy and Numeracy courses and qualifications are free if you:
> are over 19 years old and
> have lived in the UK for 3 years or more and
> do NOT have an up to date English or maths qualification at Level 2 (such as a GCSE).

Job Searching & Career Planning are free if you:
> are over 19 years old and
> have lived in the UK for 3 years or more.

Home and Office IT

Home and Office IT courses and qualifications are free if you are over 19 years old, have lived in the UK for 3 years or more, and are on either:
> Job Seekers Allowance (JSA)
> Income Support (you could be receiving this if you are a lone parent or have been off work for a short period)
> Working Tax Credit (you could be receiving this if you are in a low income family)
