Where can I do the courses?

Your learndirect courses will be online, allowing you to learn anywhere you have access to the internet, including:

>	at home All you need is a PC with internet access.
>	at work All you need is a computer with internet access.
>	a library Libraries provide internet access. Click here to find a library near you
>	our learning centre You can visit Care Training East Midlands' learndirect centre Monday–Friday, 9:00am–4:30pm, to use a computer and see a tutor. Click here for directions.

Literacy and Numeracy

Costs and funding available

Literacy and Numeracy

You are eligible for funding if:

you are aged 19 years old or over
you are a British Citizen, come from an EU member country or have lived in the UK for 3 years or more (and have been given the right to remain)
your diagnostic assessment results show that you are working at Level 1 or below.

If you match the above criteria your training and tests will be fully funded by the government. This means they will not cost you a thing.

If your diagnostic assessment results show that you are currently working at Level 2 then you have two options:

Pay £20 for the test and take it straight away. If you fail the test you will have to pay another £20 for each subsequent test you take.
Access tuition to enable you to pass the Level 2 test. This one-to-one support is charged at £25 per hour. The test will be £20.

Home and Office IT

New CLAiT costs £80 per module and there is 1 mandatory unit plus at least 2 optional units.

CLAiT Plus costs £90 per module and there is 1 mandatory unit plus at least 4 optional units.

There is no funding available.
