Home > News > NVQ in Supporting Teaching & Learning

The NVQ in Supporting Teaching & Learning is a flexible work-based qualification that is nationally recognised. It is for those who work at any type of school, supporting children’s learning under the direction of a teacher and in co-ordination with others. It is for classroom / teaching assistants, learning support assistants and special needs assistants.

On 26 January 2010 Care Training's Supporting Teaching & Learning Team had an extremely successful visit from an External Verifier. There were no action points, no suggestions for improvements and we have maintained Direct Claims Status for Levels 2 and 3.

Some of the comments the External Verifier made were:

"They are highly experienced and wise practitioners and are able to ensure that their learners really do get a developmental experience whilst on course in line with what is deemed to be best practice in the workplace these days."

"The centre embraces a culture of developing its own staff…."

"It would be hard to find fault in either the process or products within this centre…"

"All management systems are well designed, constantly under review for developmental purposes and correctly applied in line with the requirements of the 2006 Code of Practice."

Well done to all the Care Training staff involved!
