Every year at some point the awarding bodies of the qualifications we deliver drop into training providers to check that they are delivering the awards correctly and efficiently. After all, the awards are representing that company as well.
These visits could come with a months notice or a days notice, which is what happened at Central Skills. Rick Collins, the RTITB inspector, gave Central Skills only 24 hours notice for the RTITB inspection in July 2010.
Rick Collins arrived in the morning and spent his time observing the delivery of training, interviewing candidates and making sure all the correct paperwork was in place. He asked to see a random selection of files and questioned the instructors on the policies and procedures in place.
Rick, who has been an RTITB inspector for over 30 years, was so impressed with what he saw at Central Skills that he called it one of the best RTITB delivery centres in the country.
Since September 2008, 465 fork lift truck licences have been issued to Central Skills' learners. Central Skills supports people to find employment as well as developing skills for those in work.
Nick Woodrow, Central Skills' Manager, says, “The great success of the audit is down to the hard work and dedication of the team. We have always ensured we deliver the RTITB Licence to the correct standards with the correct paperwork; it makes the process so much easier and efficient for all. We are looking forward to delivering even more training in the future.” |
