| Why qualifications matter... |
Specific qualifications are required for certain jobs and careers. For example: childcare, social care and guidance professions. Qualifications also strengthen your case when applying for a job or a promotion.
Maths (Numeracy) and English (Literacy) skills are vital in any job and are an important skill for your CV. Further and higher education courses usually require an English and Maths GCSEs. An Adult Literacy or Numeracy Certificate may be used as an equivalent to a GCSE (see level equivalents).
Computer skills are also vital for most jobs, and having a nationally recognised qualification like CLAiT can make the difference between getting that interview, or not.
If you're already in work, an NVQ could be appropriate. You may already have skills and want to improve them, or you may be starting from scratch. |
