Callum came to Central Skills after it was recommended by his Connexions adviser Liz Dunn. Liz felt the E2E for Fork Lift Truck, Warehousing & Distribution programme would give Callum the opportunity to gain new skills and achieve his fork lift truck licence.
Callum says, “Before I came to Central Skills I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I really enjoyed my time there. All the staff treated me as an adult, which I really appreciated. Gemma, one of my tutors, was always really supportive and helped me update my CV and worked with me to develop my confidence and interview techniques.”
Nick Woodrow, Central Skills’ Manager, says, “From day one Callum was determined and enthusiastic about the programme; he embraced all the challenges that come with learning new skills. Watching Callum’s confidence and belief in himself grow has been excellent – I was really pleased for Callum when he received his fork lift truck licence. Callum was a pleasure to work with and I wish him all the best.”
Callum says, “I would definitely recommend Central Skills; I now have my fork lift truck licence and an up-to-date CV to take to employers. I feel more confident when I go for an interview as I will know what to say and how to really sell myself.”
