| Over the summer months Care Training East Midlands (CTEM) has been working to support Partnerships in Care in training and recruitment.
CTEM organised several jobs fairs for Partnerships in Care. These jobs fairs allowed jobseekers to find out about training in care along with working at Partnerships in Care.
As one of the largest providers of secure mental health facilities within the UK, it is crucial that prospective employees have a full understanding of what working with Partnerships in Care is all about. As a healthcare worker at Partnerships in Care they could be working with people with complex mental health needs, such as mental illness and personality disorder. The job can be challenging, but also very rewarding.
CTEM created a tailored, two week training programme for Partnerships in Care applicants. Of those that attended the jobs fair, 14 people were selected to complete the pre-employment training.
The programme included a visit to a Partnerships in Care facility and care-specific training such as First Aid and Food Hygiene. It also included employability skills such as interview techniques and CV writing.
The programme all served to support the applicants in interviews with Partnerships in Care. It gave them the experience and knowledge to apply to the interview, giving them far more confidence. It also made sure they had a full understanding of the job role and wanted the job. Seven candidates who completed the pre-employment training were offered jobs with Partnerships in Care.
The events and Pre-Employment Training programmes have all proved extremely successful. Many thanks to Partnerships in Care for working in partnership with us! CTEM looks forward to working with other organisations in the future to support recruitment needs.
Jo Walker at Partnerships in Care says, “I have found working with CTEM a pleasure. They are extremely responsive to the needs of the organisation, putting together specific pre-employment courses for the service. This has been in close liaison with our team taking into account our policies and procedures. At any point that we have had any concerns we have received reassurance or have been able to adapt the courses accordingly. Well done!”
