Rahilfrom Nottingham
Rahil decided to come to Care Training after talking to his Jobcentre Plus adviser. He recognised it was a good opportunity to fill the gap in his CV while he was waiting to go to university.

After six months of being unemployed, he was referred to Central Skills for Work Focused Training Security. Nevertheless, at his pre-talk at Care Training he decided security wasn’t the career he wanted to pursue.

Rahil was able to find out about alternative vocational training available at Care Training and Central Skills. He felt Work Focused Training for Business Administration was more suitable for his career and long-term goals of going to university and training to be a teacher.

Whilst Rahil was attending Care Training he updated his administration skills such as Taking Minutes at Meetings, Computer Skills and the Data Protection Act.

Through a friend Rahil heard about the Future Jobs Fund jobs available at the Community Learning Network. He applied for the job and was successful in being offered the position, starting in April 2010. He will be completing business administration activities and designing leaflets.

A few weeks ago he and his colleagues organised an Easter Event for local 5–11 year olds. It involved organising a series of games and activities to keep the young ones entertained over the holidays. “It was an enjoyable day with lots of people attending,” said Rahil.

Rahil would “definitely recommend Care Training. They offer a wide range of skills and training.”
