During their placement, learners are trained in the Serif warehouse processes and systems and are closely monitored by Kevin Ward, Warehouse Manager, and his team. Kevin says, “We really enjoy giving individuals the chance to get back into work and helping them gain essential job-based skills.”
So far, ten people have participated in placements at Serif and in some cases this has led to a longer term position at Serif for the learner; David McPhee (in the photo on the right) started on a placement as a Warehouse Operative and has since been offered a four month contract. Of David’s development in the workplace Kevin says, “Dave has really come on. At first he was very shy and lacked confidence but now his character has come out.”
CTEM and Central Skills can provide learners across a variety of vocational areas. If you would like an extra set of hands either on a placement or with the potential to recruit please click here for more information.
